My boyfriend is on depression pills and he has a hard time getting off sometimes! Could the reason he can't get off is because of the pills?

It's a possibility. Check the drug side effects on drugs.com or I am sure there are other sites, too. I looked at two anti-depressants there and both had those types of possible side effects.
