    POP3 Error
I am applying for a job that asked me to send a copy of my resume as an attachment. I tried sending it through the email, but when I checked the attachment there was nothing there. I then tried sending it from my documents, however, it says there is a POP3 error and cannot send the document. How do I change the settings in Outlook Express to accept the POP3 attachments? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What does the error actually say as this will give us something to work with ?

It maybe a simple case of the attachment is too large and is being blocked by the mail server.

POp3 is your outgoing mail server. Therefore your mail service is blocking the attachment. Call their tech support to find out why.

    Curlyben,

This is exactly what the error report says:

The host 'SMTP' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'POP3', Server: 'SMTP', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

That means your OUTGOING e-mail server is not contactable.
You need to go into accounts and check the SMTP settings.

Whoops, I meant POP3 is your incoming server (too early in the morning). It wouldn't make sense that POP3 would be a problem when sending mail. So I was right the problem is your Outgoing mail server which is the SMTP server.

    Thanks.

Would you happen to know where I can find the settings to adjust the SMTP server?
