I have an HP laptop with Vista loaded and for some reason it will not detect my external hard Drive(300 GB) when plugged into USB Port. Any Suggestion on how to correct this problem as I am not familiar with Windows Vista. Thanks!

Check your drive's compatibility with Vista... and check if there is some installation procedure... as explained by your hard drive's manual.

My External Hard drive worked fine ever since I have owned it (1 year or so) now ALL of a sudden my laptop or desktop will not recognize it help!! All my pictures are on it

Hi, I'm experiencing the Same Problem. What I'm finding is that the Hard Drive is Probably Bad at least in my case it is. What you might try first is to see if your hard drive is spinning, or when you hold it does it vibrate? If it does then it might be you have to go into My Computer: Try right clicking on My Computer, click on manage, then click on Disk Management and see if you Hard drive is Present, if it is you might have to format it to use it. Oh course your going to lose all your Data on the HD. This is some of thing I have researched, but by no way am I a Pro, so proceed at your own risk! I hope this Helps.
