    Square d pressure switch
Went to check my sister in laws water pressure as they had none. I found that the breaker was tripped at the water pump site and there was on 15# of pressure on the gauge. Reset the breaker and the pressure built up to about 60psi then settled down again to 40. It is a square D 30-50 pressure switch. Breaker tripped again and again the pressure built up and stayed at 40psi. Is the pressure switch bad or something else?

    REplaceing square d pressure switch
I suspect as I posted earlier that the pressure switch is bad. How hard is it to replace?

    Hey6 Mike,
Not to difficult at all. Shut the power off at the breaker box and simply replace wire for wire on the same terminal as before. Make sure the tube leading from the pump to the control box's clear. If the new control box has different settings then the bladder tank must be recharged to the correct PSI. To set the PSI on the bladder tank shut down the pump and bleed off the pressure. Your air setting on the tank should be 2 pounds UNDER the cut in point in the pressure control box. If your pressure control has a 20 PSI cut in and 40 PSI cut out the tank pressure should read 18 PSI. This should be done with the pump off and no pressure in the system. Hope this helps and thank you for rating my reply. Tom
