    Ceiling fan motor noise
We just installed a Hunter ceiling fan with a separate remote. All seems to work fine, but there is a motor noise. Is there any way to stop this?

Is it a Hum or a click, do you have a Fan Control? All Speeds?

Check for loose parts... physical support... does the fan hold steady ?

Does the motor noise occur when the light is on only or does it occur with the light off as well?

I have this link here, but even then you need to select the type of noise you are hearing:

General ceiling fan troubleshooting and help FAQ- Ceiling Fans N More

It would also help to know what model fan it is.

It is a humming sound. We don't have a light on it so it has to be coming from the motor. The blades are on tight and it doesn't wobble.

Sort of a droning sound. Not loud, but annoying.

Do you have a fan control, if so, fan should be set to high, less expensive are louder than the more expensive, usually?

Did you install the rubber grommits between the mounting bracket and the ceiling, when you installed the fan? Most Hunter fans will hum if you don't use these.

I actually had that problem and it was cured by a thourough cleaning of everything.

My guess is, something was making contact or out of place that got bumped back when you cleaned it.
