    Raising rent
Hello, I am new here. So hi everybody. I was wondering my landlord raised my rent but everybody else I talk to in my complex has not gottin an increase in their rent. So can the landlord do the pick who gets rent increase? Or do they have to increase everybodys?

I believe he has the right to raise the rent as he pleases, with what ever tenant he pleases.

You as the tenant, do have the option of not accepting the increase, and finding a different place to live.

I do not think he has violated any law or landlord tenant statutes.

One possible exception could be if all the units are under some type of government subsidy or section 8 type of tenancy where any increase would have to be applied to all units under a government program.

Agreed, if this apartment accepted government funding, there may be restrictions but in general yes they can.
