How to move a sink drain?
 Need answers to bathroom remodel. Please.
I have a 1940's home and I don't have much space. To add more storage I need to either move the floor drain to the sink, so I can add a 18" cabinet to store towels, or I have to move the toilet, because your knees would hit the new cabinet while on the toilet. I would assume moving the sink drain would be easier than moving the toilet from an outside wall to an inside wall. (this move would be about 14").

Thanks speedball 1. I need to move the sink drain to provide room for a new storage unit. The drain goes into the floor and is an "S" trap. There is a full basement underneath.

Thanks, now we just need to work around the heating ducts!

Do you mean your bathroom lavatory drains into a floor drain or that you have a "S" trap that goes into the floor instead of the wall? You are correct that the laqvatory will be the easiest to move. But before I can help I have to know the drainage configuration on the lavatory. Give me ALL the details. Regards, Tom

Piece o cake! Simply extend everything down to where you want it to go. Extend the drain, cut a hole in the floor for the "S" trap and you're back in business. Good luck, Tom
