My son is 16 years old and his bio father disowned him at the age of 8 and wants to have nothing to do with him. My husband and my son want him to legally change his name and adopt him. You will need to get the bio father to sign off along with the adoption paperwork, I would strongly advice an attorney but if you can't get a paralegal to do the paperwork. Or at the very least get them from a good online legal forms company.
