    Scheduling DVD recording
My DVD Recorder records whatever program I'm watching, but I have trouble scheduling programs to record. I have a cable box Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4200 hooked up to my DVD Recorder, TV and VCR. I connected them all following instructions but still can't schedule recordings. I heard something about a splitter? Will it solve the problem? How do I hook it up?

This is actually a problem when you have a settop box. You can schedule your Recorder, but you have to set the channel to 3 or 4, whatever is necessary for the settop box. You then have to ALSO schedule the settop box to tune in the channel.

The problem is the DVD doesn't control the settop box.

Thank you for your reply. But how do I tune my settop box? My TV, VCR and DVD are tuned to channel 3.

How may video input ,not channel 3,does your TV have... does the TV has an output, if it has one(set) then hook up the dvr to it... if no TV output then try to hook the cable box(out) to dvr (in), then dvr (out) to TV... also can you create a schedule for your dvr??

Not sure what you mean? Do you mean howto schedule it? Ask your cable provider. Not all cable boxes have that capability.
