Oregon DUII drug testing -- EtG?
I got a DUI a few months ago and am about to go to my alcohol evaluation so I can start taking the required classes. (I'm in the diversion program -- first and LAST offense.) When I made the evaluation appointment about a month ago, I asked if I would have to take a drug test and they said I probably would. My question is, does anyone know if Oregon uses the EtG test when they drug test? I know that test has a lot of problems with false positives and I haven't received any warnings to stay away from products with alcohol in them. (Except for booze... duh!) I didn't find out about this test until the other day and my appointment is about six days away.

If someone could help me out, that'd be great. Thanks!

It would appear so because an Oregon Attorney specializes in "fighting probation violation/suspension due to inaccurate EtG testing."

I don't know if anyone from Oregon has had a false positive but there have been two in Pennsylvania, one involving mouthwash - if you are to believe the people who posted - who violated.

I realize this question was asked in 2008, but am answering it anyway in case anyone has the same question again and the correct answer has not been given. Yes, in Oregon DUII Diversion programs, most--if not ALL--treatment centers utilize the EtG test. Also, I would indeed worry about false positives. Different treatment places use different labs which use different "cut off" levels. But depending on the product and how much was ingested, it can still show up even given a high cut-off.

I wanted to add that if you have any concerns about what products are or are not OK to use, simply ask your treatment place. That said, however, still be wary because I myself received a false positive after being "okayed" to use a certain product.
