My toilet seems to be flushing okay, however once the water comes into the toilet it slowly seeps out.

I would say get the ol plunger out and start a good upper body workout ! Its good for the back muscles LOL
Hey Johnson:
Are you saying that your toilet empties after it has flushed correctly and refilled..
How long does it take to empty after it filled..
Yes. My toilet empties within seconds after I have flushed it.Quote:

Sorry for the questions, just need to be clear on your issue.
Just moved into a house... May 1st... The house was built in 2005. The toilet has a 24 Sept 2005 stamp on the inside.
Either the toilet bowl is defective or there is something in the drain that is siphoning the toilet.
I would lift the toilet... separate from the tank, put bowl up on horses and then fill the bowl and see if it empties by itself. If it does, possible bowl had ceramic plug that has failed and now bowl needs to be replaced!
Otherwise, may find something at outlet of toilet (like cleaning rag caught at bottom of bowl).
Let me know what you think.. Mark
Sometimes, not often, a toilet has a flaw in the trap and a patch is applied in the factory. Like most patches they don't always work and can allow water to leak from the trap and drain the toilet. Mark's sawhorse approach is the way to go. If it leaks its time to visit HD or Menards.
You guys are making this really difficult and complicated. You would wonder how a woman manages to keep things going with 2 part epoxy, plungers and snakes!
It does seem like a lot of work but you need to diagnose the problem. If its what we suspect you would not be fixing it with 2 part plumbers epoxy this time. The patch that failed was vitreous chins.
