    Symptoms of miscarriage
I am 23 and have been having sexual intercourse with my partner for about 8 months. We discovered several months down the line, he has an allergy to latex. Therefore with the doctors, family planning clinic etc I am on the pill (as my only form on contraception) I am aware of the consquences but do take this very seriously.

Basically I keep worrying all the time about what if I get pregnant. This past week, I have been on the break from the pill, during this time I will not allow sex, as I know it does protect you, but its extra mesaures to being safe. Every time I worry what happens if I do not bleed.

Recently I have been bleeding as normal, so I understand I must therefore not be pregnant, as this is my indication, however this past week it has been extremely heavy. I have noticed that my periods have actually got heavier since being on the pill, but this time it is unbelievable the lengths I have had to go to.

This is an awful thing to say, but if you miscarry really early, as in 1 or 2 weeks, could this cause excess bleeding?

Also my friend was in same position as me, and she actually had periods for 7 months whilst still be pregnant.

Can anyone help me put my mind at ease in any way at all?

You could be bleeding heavie or irregular from being on and off the pill. The only way to really know is to go to the doctor and get a blood test. It doesn't sound like a miscarriage, because I just had a miscarriage 2 weeks ago, and I experienced cramping and light spotting for a few days, and the bleeding was heavier and there was clots. I had to have a D&C to clean out my uterus. So to ease you mind make a doctors appt... Good luck!
