    Yahoo account.
Can anyone tell me if any information like e-mails or im's are saved after a Yahoo account has been deleted? I know that personal info such as name, etc stays saved but what about the emails and stuff? Someone please respond to me quick!

What about with a court order or subpeanel?

E-mails, highly unlikely as they would be based on the Yahoo server.
As for IM's these tend to be stored on the local machine, if at all.

    So basically NO.

Yahoo claims that emails are gone for good and cannot be recovered.

Not quite sure if you are speaking of whether YOU can access the emails and imails or if they can be subpoenaed from the person who received them - ?

I HAVE seen both from accounts deleted by the sender used in Court as evidence because the recipient either printed them out or saved them. I have also seen computers seized (in, obviously, large) cases and the hard drive scanned for deleted material.

Otherwise Curlyben has FAR more knowledge than I have!

Yahoo accounts are generally not deleted. Some accoutns may ber purged after a long period of misuse. However, mails stored online are purged after a time. Once purged they are gone and can't be reteived. IMs are not stored at all.

No, if you delete your account Yahoo will not save it, but if you want to be safe don't put any personnel info on there like a address

Have you checked on yahoo's tos ? ( terms of service ). I believe they hold all communications for 90 days after an account has been deleted in case there are problems that arise with the account. As far as you getting to see someone else's messages etc that's a different story. You would have to go through Yahoo legal and they may inform the party you are pursuing that their privacy rights are about to be violated.
