I am a 26 yr old who had been trying to get pregnant for years. I was engaged twice and they both wanted to have a baby I always thought it was them and not me but they now both have kids... the guy I am with now wants a baby and so do I but I can't get pregnant I try to have sex around the time I think I am ovulating. But it never works. Everyone around me is now pregnant and it hurts me so much because I want it now more than ever. My periods are not regular so I don't know when I may be ovulating some times its every 26, 28, or 30 days. My last period that I just had was the first time it was 26 days. Usually I have cramps so bad I throw up but this is the first time I never had cramps. I was on so heavy I went through 2 packs of pads and 2 boxes of tampons in 4 days I can usually go through half a box and pack a month... what's going on with my body can somebody help me do you think I will ever get pregnant?:confused: :confused: :confused:

Firstly, I just want to say you sound like a great person, and don't be so hard on yourself.

Have you invested in some ovulation sticks? So that you know EXACTLY when you are ovulating. Do it a million times those few days! You'll have fun!

Yes I have tried those before and it made me think that I don't ovulate I'm just so confused and stress it hurst every month when I come on my period and to make it worst almost all of my friends are pregnant and so it my sister and we live together. If he leaves you if you can't have a baby, I think there is a problem with him. That's not true love or commitment. Have you seen the doctor yet to see if there is a problem and what you can do to better conceive?

No I Have Not Seen One Yet But I Plan On It Soon I Just Don't Want To Go And They Tell Mei Can't Have Kids... But A Dr Did One Tell Me To Take Prenatel Vitimans And That Would Help Me But Its Not Working... But I Just Went To The Store And Got A Different Brand Of Ovulation Test The First One Was The Cheap Brand So Lets Hope This Is Better...

Seeing a doctor is the best bet!! And I didn't know that prenatal vitamins helped with conception. I thought they were just to keep you healthy while pregnant.

First of all, if you are sexually active you should be having your annual female exam. I hope you are doing that. Secondly, prenatal vitamins will not HELP you get pregnant, but they will be very beneficial to you when you do get pregnant. You see, they contain folic acid, which helps prevent neural tube defects such as spina bifida. This can occur before you even know you are pregnant and is not reversible.

Lastly, if your "friend" will leave you because you cannot get pregnant, he's not a "friend," he's a jerk. If he's going to leave you because you can't get pregnant he'll eventually find another reason to leave you if and when you do have a baby.

They don't. This is a common myth.

A few things to consider: trying to get pregnant around the time you "think you are ovulating" may be causing you to miss the window of opportunity altogether. If you have been trying for years, it is time to see your doctor for some testing. Your boyfriend should also get testing done as often it is a male component that is the issue, or a combination of both. He might also benefit from a good multivitamin, or specifically folic acid and zinc as both do play a role in sperm health. Think of any vitamins you and he take as insurance against a diet that could be better. As others have said, it won't help you get pregnant, but it certainly can provide you with increased odds of a healthy baby and pregnancy.
A different stance... while it would be heartbreaking to have him leave if you couldn't get pregnant, at least you know where he stands. Just as someone shouldn't be forced to have a child if they don't want to, nor should someone be forced to forego having children if it is their desire. If he had vowed to stand by you, come what may, that would be one thing, but when you are seriously dating or perhaps contemplating marriage, the issue of children often does come up, as it should... and it can be a deal breaker. It simply lets you know, that he is not the one. After all, that is what dating is all about... finding out what you want and don't want in a more committed relationship.

I would see your GP and see if they can put you on something like clomid, it regulates your period and increases the production of eggs. Be careful mind you as you have a hire risk of twins, mood swings and for a few people it doesn't work
