    Water heater pressure relief valve

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Hi speedball1,

My water heater (gas) is three years old and I never had any problems with it. At the same time, a new "pressure regulator" was also installed on the main line.

Recently, the "main" water valve to the house had to be shut off to replace a "manual valve" in the backyard and then turned on again. Ever since, the water heater relief valve has been "dripping"! At first, it was dripping continuosly and now it drips " off and on. I have "flushed" the valve a few times and the water flows smoothly. Can you please help..?

    Thanks a lot.

    Ken

    Hey Ken,
What's the house PSI after the new PRV valve was installed? My bet's that you have so much pressure it's kicking the Temperature and Pressure Relief Valve off. Regards, Tom
