    Inner tub removal
We have a Kenmore model 110.26844691 washer which would not spin last night after a rinse.
My wife found a couple of nails in the tub this morning, and I'm wondering if another nail became lodged between the inner and outer tub, because it will now spin but with a screaching sound. I took the washer apart so as to look for another nail but cannot remove the nut that holds the inner tub onto the steel shaft. I don't have a spanner and have to use hammer and a short piece of steel to get the nut loose.
The question is: is it a left handed or right handed thread? I assume it is a right handed thread, but I can't budge the nut. Should it be that tight?

It is tight. It turns clockwise to loosen. Just the oppisite of the way you normally loosen

Thanks for the reply. The nut must be tight. It still won't budge.
