    Convicted felons and guns
Can anyone tell me why a convicted child molester that had possession of numerous guns would NOT be charged? This man's conviction was in 2002, he was captured in a photo passing a loaded 32 pistol to a deputy. Here is someone who preys on the innocent and is not punished for breaking the law. I personally am disgusted with this!!

Was he the mayor's kid brother perchance? Or was he charged later on and you just didn't read about it in the newspaper?

No, he does claim to be close friends with the town clerk, who happens to be cousins with the town sheriff. To outside eyes it appears to be a case of the good ol' boy mentality. He was convicted in a neighboring state, if this incident had happened in the state of conviction I doubt he would be a free man today.

You say the photo was of him being captured, what was he being captured for the second time? But the other poster is correct, often secondary charges may be added several weeks latter or used as a threat to get a plea bargain

No the photo was "captured" by a witness to him handing it over to the deputy. The deputy was aware he was a felon.

I have contacted numerous organizations including the ATF and I do not know why he is not in jail. I intend to continue to seek justice for the innocent.

Contact the state attorney general, but in wonderful American, often the local DA has the say if charges are done or not.

I spent over 3 months dealing with a DA that didn't return phone calls as he had promised, and running back and forth to his county trying to get a straight answer out of him, believe me I plan on being there when he runs for re-election, and the sheriff for that matter. It is really discouraging when criminals that prey on innocent children aren't properly punished. It sends a terrible message to today's youths.
