Can someone help me to figure out what some debt and equity instruments are.

It's a fancy way of saying debt and equity stuff. :-)

So debt instruments are like bonds and loans, and equity instruments are generally stock.

Are you just confused over the word instrument, or do you need more detailed info on the difference between debt & equity?
