I have a push mower with a briggs and stratham motor, its not starting at all, but getting spark, so the sparkplug is OK, I tried emptying the fuel and using fresh fuel just in case there was too much water in the fuel tank, but that didn't help either, Finally, I have some carburator spray I used which after using, will start up easily, idle for 3-4 seconds then cut out again and I will not be able to restart- , I read somewhere on these forums that replacing the air filter a lot of times will fix the problem, however, I've ran it without the filter on when I was using the spray and it still didn't idle for more than 3 seconds, any ideas? I'm getting really discouraged

You need to inspect and clean the carb. Just because you have spark, doesn't mean it is at the correct time. Did it backfire any?
