Hampton Bay Huntington III wiring issues
We are installing our fans and don't know how to separate between the two switches; one that turns on the light and the other that turns on the fan.

In the ceiling we have a copper (ground?); a white; a black coming out of the ceiling. We see a red up there but it's not pulled down. In the fan we have blue; black; white; green.

We have connected the green to the copper; white to white; blue and black to black. The house is new and was set up to have the separate switches for light and fan. Looking at the light switch, the one for the light has a red & black attached. The one for the fan are two blacks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Black to black and red to blue should work. Keep white to white and green to bare.

Try pulling the red down and connecting it to the blue.

OK, we pulled down the red. We found that the black wire that was coming from the ceiling is connected to the red. So do we connect the blue to the red and black and then black to black?

Which black wire? The one that goes to the fan currently?

Question: right now, which switch controls the fan and light?

My husband just found a black wire after a lot of digging. But there is a black wire connected to the red wire and then open on the end.

We have attached two other fans to this wire and they both work fine but only on one light switch. We need to be able to have them on the two switches.

Right now the switch that normally turned on the light is what turns on the light and fan together.
