    Credit cards and house liens
Can credit card companies put liens on your home? I have about 30,000 dollars (between my husband and I) and I can't pay them for personal reasons. Can we get our house taken away because of this?

If you are in the US, it will depend on the state. Normally they will do many things before they try and put a lien.

First of course you and your husband need to cut up and stop using any credit cards. You both need to try and find second jobs, or other ways to pay on these accounts.

What will happen if you don't pay, they will sue you in court and get a judgement, then depending on where you live, they may be able to garnish your paycheck, take all the money out of your bank account, those are what they normally try first, but in some areas yes they can put a lien on the home, but normally they have to then wait till you die or till you sell the house to get their money
