    My Puppy won't poop outside
I have a 12 week old lab who refuses to poop outside. I will catch him sniffing around and bring him out but he holds it until he comes inside. We are crate training him and we take him outside often so I really don't know what the problem is. I am getting sick of picking up his poop though! Please help

When you pick up his poop, take it outside where you want him to poop... don't let him see you doing this.

You could also try walking him around until he poops, but if you choose to do this you may end up having to walk him for the rest of his life. I had a dog that had to be walked for long periods before he would go, then he got smart to the fact that as soon as he pooped he was going home so then it ended up being longer walks because he would hold it. In short if you walk him till he poops continue in the same direction for a few more
Minutes before you turn for home or he may catch on.

At the top of this forum there is a sticky on dog training that you should find helpful.

I have tried putting his poop in the are we want him to go in... I also walk him and stand outside with him for 20-30 minutes waiting for him to poop... he is really more interested in eating stuff off the ground than pooping... we have started keeping him in the crate until he finally does poop taking him out every 1/2 hour but I feel guilty if he doesn't go and we have to put him back in the crate... I tried shutting the door to the room that he always poops in but he just found another spot to go... I love him to pieces but we really have to solve this problem

If you go down to the housebreaking section... you will find some very good suggestions.

My advice is to just keep on trying your dog will eventually get it. 3 months is not really that old. Please don't scold harshly, spank or rub his nose in it.
