    I went bankruptcy over 13 years ago, will that hurt me getting term life insurance

    No it will not.

    Here is why…

    If you die, and have not kept up on your premiums, then they don't have to pay out an insurance policy.

    Therefore, they don't care about your financial history in that regard.

    I agree with CaptainForest with only one exception.

    Most term life issuers now require that you have an active bank account for the premium payments to be automatically withdrawn from.

    As long as your credit situation is not preventing you from having an active bank account, you should not have any other concerns.

    No, actually you could be going bankrupt tomorrow and it will not effect most term life policies, In fact I wrote a couple of people last month that had just filed and they had no problem at all.
