When I try to open certain word docs, from the server it comes up with a message saying the file is not working properly then comes up with another message saying 'runtime error'. We are able to open the docs on other computers so it must be my computer.

How can I resolve this?

Is it word that gives you a runtime error or something else?

If the files are trying to open in something other than word, you should try to restore the file associations. If possible, the best way to do this is to reinstall office. You could also try to restore the word document association manually: Microsoft Word -- Word Files Won't Open in Word

If the files are opening in word and giving errors, I would try reinstalling office.

Microsoft Visual C ++ Runtime Library
Runtime error

Tried detect and repair and this did nothing. Any ideas?
