    Ask out by email
Hi, there's this girl in my work place that I've talked to a few times but now sadly never get the chance too, anyway she's really cute and nice.

I have her email address and was wondering what you guys thought about asking someone out by email and how to go about it

    Thanks

I think you'd be better off in person.

Email is just too casual and impersonal. Get a group of a couple people from work together to go out for drinks or a movie or a game of pool or something, and ask her to join.

I agree. F you work together maybe try to find time to talk to her in person? It'll be less formal, and that way you can avoid the awkwardness in case she does not want to go out.
But, if you really don't have the opportunity to talk, then if you do send an email just keep it light and not have it necessarily be a 'date' email so that it is not too sudden and pushy

Definitely keep it light.. if email is really the ONLY way to talk to her then try like Retsoksirhc said, set up an event with work friends, like dinner at chilli's or something or bowling and say she's welcome to come if she wants.. you run the risk of her thinking it's just a friendly invite, but treat her special during the event, and I'm sure she will get the hint.. and at the end of the night, you can then ask for her number and tell her "we should do this again".. good luck and let us know how it goes!

Go over to her desk, meet her after work, or something, don't email here, this is not JR High

Don't rely on email to ask her out, to express your feelings, to have an argument, to press a point, to make/break a date, or anything like that.

Use your voice and your face. It's SO much more animated than a blank computer screen.
