Greetings. I had to replace the flush lever and few other small internal parts of our comode. The water level is well below normal and I cannot get it right! Help! I am afraid that with the minimal amount of water being used (not a high pressure comode) I will end up with a horrible back-up.

Sounds like you replaced some parts on an older style fill valve.. That sound right?

Do the inner workings of toilet look like my picture below (or similar)..

If so, you can see that most of these units have a screw that raises/lowers water level and some have a flow rate adjustment screw. You want to adjust so that the float ball on long arm DROPS lower so takes the tank longer to fill... try it... let me know.

WATERLINE should be about 1/2" to 1" below the top of the overflow tube (picture is wrong on that).

If my picture is not like your commode tank..let me know what you can about it...how old...that kinda stuff!!

DON'T FORGET TO CHECK THE REFILL TUBE... MAKE SURE IT IS PLACED INTO OR AT LEAST CONNECTED TO THE OVERFLOW TUBE.

Actually this commode has an anti-siphon system, not the old float-ball set-up. There is no adjustment at the top of the cap. I have looked, watched, looked again and could not figure it out until just now. The lever arm is impeding on the fill arm, a little adjustment to the valve assembly and it is now working like a charm. Thank you!
