    Troy Bilt Model 569 Self-Starter won't start
I have a Troy Bilt Model 569 self-propelled, self-starting walk-behind mower that is about 4 yrs old (out of warranty). It will no longer start under the "Self-Start" feature -- which uses a wound spring energizer to start. I know that the self-starter is getting "energized" (as they call it), because when I try to start the mower by pushing forward on the orange thumb lever and pulling the safety bar rearward, I can hear it de-energize. But it no longer start the mower. I now have to use the rope to start the mower each time.

Anyone have similar problems and found a solution with this mower?

    Your spring could be broken.
