Typical pregnancy rates for women on the pill range from as low as 1% with perfect use to 5% with common use... meaning one woman out of 20 will get pregnant while having sex with the pill as the only mode of birth control.
Thank you. I feel a little better now. :-]
I don't want to freak you out... you are using the pill... but understand 1 in 20 isn't really great odds at all.
My wife became pregnant while we were using two methods of birth control. It can happen.
If you are this worried, make him use a condom.
Yeah I know I should have but at the time I wasn't thinking too hard about it. But I'll watch for symptoms. Thanks.
If you take your birth control according to directions, you will have little chance of getting pregnant.
You will find a leaflet in your prescription(on all drugs)for birth control pills that show the statistical trials of the efficiency of preventing pregnancy.
Years ago, when I took birth control pills, the effective rate was 99something percent, or one out of 100 failure rate. :)
Why don't you go to your pharmacist and have him/her show you where this information is for the brand of pills you take. You should rest a little more peacefully for the time being.
Best wishes,
Thank you, I'm going to go look at my box right now. :-]
