    Bypassing format disk
Win XP on my main drive doesn't work anymore. I installed another Win on drive D. When I try to address drive C, I get a message "disk is not formatted, format now". The last operation I did on that disk was running my recovery disks which, by the way, ran fine as I did not get any error messages but, when I restarted nothing was working

My question : is there anyway to bypass the formatting message? I want to recover all the date that is on that disk, if at all possible.

    Thanks

Take the drives out and make the new one you have set as master with the jumpers on drive and set the old one as slave.

Attach the one set to master on the end of the gray cable and the one set as slave to the connector in the middle of the cable, try that and post back
