    Hello, my name is Bianca. I have a 8 week alaskan terrier mixed wit a chiwawah. He will eat the soft doggie food, but really wont drink water. He stills plays alot, and pees normally. He goes 2 get his shots this thursday. But i dont have any idea of how 2 get him2 drink more, Please help. Hes my first puppy, and I watch him every second. I want him 2 be heathy. Thank u!

    Well, if he's peeing normally... that means that he doesn't require that much liquid right now. I'd double check with the vet just to be sure, but I wouldn't worry too much if he's eating/peeing just fine.

    As long as he is drinking some do not be concerned esp. if he is acting normal and peeing. If he is small he probably does not require a lot.
    You could measure the amount of water you put in his bowl and remeasure it at the end of the day to see how much he is drinking and report it to the vet. I would start today and do it until the vet appt. The vet should be able to tell you if he thinks he is getting enough water.

    Chicken broth is not needed. He is probably getting all the water he needs if he is urinating regularly. If your pup is eating dry food, you could always add a spoonful of water to the food. Discuss it with your vet, but I wouldn't make any changes to your pup's diet unless the vet recommends it. Congrats on your new furry friend.
