My outlet in the kitchen worked yesterday and now it is not working. Not sure how to determine how to fix... ideas?

Perhaps your breaker tripped? Check other outlets in the kitchen also. If the outlet is near the sink you might have a GFCI and this might have tripped the circuit that other outlets are on.
