    Stripping Black to Blonde
So I dyed my hair black a few months ago, and liked it... for a while. However, as time went on, my hair has become more and more damaged, and I have wanted to continue to dye it less and less.

Now, I would let my hair just grow out to its natural color, but that would take months, and the color differences between my naturally blonde hair and dyed black hair would look terrible. Therefore, I have saved my money for a few months and decided to dye it.

However, when I was speaking to several people I know who have dyed their hair over and over again, and know far more about the subject than myself, they said that I would need to strip it multiple times. My hair is very fine, and I really do not wish to destroy it more than necessary. Furthermore, I will not bleach it because my sister did so to her hair and it still looks terrible months later.

I am prepared to have it professionally done, as I refuse to risk doing it myself. Is it possible to get back to my natural color? Could I do so by stripping it only once?

As you say your hair is damaged, it needs to be in a stable condition before it is stripped out.
Make sure you use intensive conditioners to make it healthy and if you blowdry/straighten/curl, try give your hair a break as often as possible.
It may need to be stripped out several times depending on how many times you have coloured your hair. As the more you dye it, the more it just builds up.

Hi I've recently dyed my hair black but I don't like it and I was hoping to strip it out to a lighter shade. Will it work and will it have any affects?
