I have a tile shower which has a cracked floor that goes through the tile. I need to get the floor drain out and raised up so I can retile over the existing tile. There are no screws on top or inside the drain. Can someone give me some instructions on how to get this drain loose/removed/raised? Thanks in advance

Hi Cub,

No problem. The drain in a tile shower is a flange type shower drain, (see image) The drain and strainer screws into the flange. You will probably have to take out the tile and mortar from around the drain to unscrew it. The only exception to this is if the shower were installed over cement, in which case you have a caulk or glue on strainer. Good luck, Tom
