    Probation n leaving the state
Yea I got arrested for a shopplifting charge. Now I'm given a four month probation sentence. I plan to go to summer school in Rhode Island. Do u think my parents can tell my po not to let me go?. I'm 18

How long does it take for the process take to get another po in Rhode Island?

Can I get a job while on probation? Is there a program for that?

Could I get off earley? How?

My mom gave the d.a a letter to make me stay here in g.a wats going to happen?

It's all up to your PO - what are the terms of your probation? Of course you can work while on probation; I don't know any programs for "dat;" you most likely cannot get off early. It's your sentence for shoplifting and you have to complete it.

What State are you in? At 18 you may be an adult and your parents would have absolutely no say in anything anyway.

Ok, you are 18, so you are not a child, mommy and daddy are not envolved at this point in your life and if anything, them talking to your Probation officer can often just make things worst.

It can take a 30 to 60 days often to get a change in probation approved.
So you have to go to your PO and talk to them yourself and ask them if you can go to school there.

The PO may just let you go if you call back to them, and they may not.

Of course you can get a job, Probation is not a lock up , you are free to work, and most likely they prefer you to work, They don't find you a job, so there is no work program for you, but you can go and apply for a 100 jobs at all types of stores and find your own job.

DA at this point has nothing to do with it, it is only what was the terms of your probation and what your probation officer says.

I would say skip summer school in another state right now. Go to summer school in your own state. You are going to be wasting your time since your probation is not that long to transfer it or have it terminated early. Sorry.
