I am very worried about my dog. She had a litter of pups 4 weeks ago and she has lost a massive amount of weight and she keeps losing it. She is a Shepard/Husky mix, she should weigh between 50-70 lbs but she only weighs 22 lbs. I currently have her on purina puppy chow and I don't want to switch her to a different food because she is still nursing the pups. What should I do to make her gain weight?

Have you tried to give her more protein in her diet? Perhaps feed her a bit of milk, chicken, etc? Have you contacted a vet?
