    J1 taxes
Hi, I'm an intern working in the us with a j1 visa, for only a year. My employer is with holding federal and state taxes. My question is if I have to fill a tax form, when, and how much of the taxes would I get back.
    Thanks

Your income is not subject to SE taxes, but it is subject to federal and state income taxes.

For each year, your employer will send you form W2 reporting your total income and taxes withheld. Then based on this information you will file your tax return. The due date for filing 2008 tax return is April 15, 2009. Then as per your tax return, you will get a refund or pay more taxes.
