    Mrs. D
Help... the heat won't turn off!!
Just wondering if any one could help before I dish out $$ to fix it. I'm hoping its something hubby can fix.

We have to thermostats (1up stairs and 1 down). 1 AC unit. The heat is working just fine downstairs.

Problem: The upstairs heat won't turn off. I turned the thermostate off. I have flipped the ac breaker, and every breaker in the house and its still running. There was no power to the ac unit. (I also wanted to add, The ac unit is not running at all during this time.) How or why is it still running. Its like like 83-84 degrees upstairs.

Is there someone who could help me with my problem.
Thank you so much for anyone who can help!!

I have some new info. My husband just got off the phone with an AC guy... of course he doesn't know what the problem could be. But he did tell dh to go up in the attic and pull the fuse up there.(I didn't know there was one up there). Anyway we have since pulled the fuse up there and the heat shut off imediataly (sp).

tkrussell: we did try disconnecting the red wire on the thermostat... and that didn't work either. Thanks for the advice thought

You say you shut off every breaker and the heat continues to run?

    That is another serious issue.

Disconnect the red wire at the 2nd fl thermostat. This should stop the heat system.
