We have porcelain tile floors throughout the entire living space of our home. The acrylic finish appears to be coming off, which has left the floor looking awful. A professional tile refurbisher told us that he would have to remove the remainder of the finish. Next, he'd have to apply a natural finish to the tile. This would cost about $1,200. Please advise if we can do this ourselves.

Acrylic finish on Porcelian tile?? I have laid a lot of porcelian tile and never seen an acrylic finish on them. Have the floor polished properly to have this removed,, may have been appiled as a sealer, The natural finish of the tile should be fine. $1200 is a very reasonable price.
