Painfull lump behind each ear lobe ?
Hi folks I am a 38 yr old bloke ,don`t really like going to see my doc as I am sure they have too much on their hands as it is.
Last week I noticed a small pea sized lump behind my right ear where my ear lobe joins my face,I thought it was a spot or an insect bite as I picked it and squeezed it,got a lot of blood out and it took ages to stop bleeding ! It has more or less gone now just a slightly raised bump. Then I have noticed I have one in exactly the same place on my other ear ?
Which is bigger and painfull and there is no chance of squeezing it.have also noticed the glands on my neck are all puffy and much bigger than usuall,I am also suffering from an aching neck which I thought was related to my work, carpet cleaning.
Have I just got some viral infection ?
I was at the dentist a couple of weeks ago and had a filling on a front tooth, and a couple of weeks prior to this I had a nasty dose of atricularia blotchy type rash thing which I think was brought on by one of my rear wisdom teeth well gum around my tooth had got infected.
I am a smoker and I prob drink more than the recommended weekly amount of units any ideas what it might be

Would also just like to add that the lumps appeared around the same time as I started using the new in ear headphones I got with my new phone, not sure if it`s related /

Do you have piercings in the ear area?

The earphones pressing against earrings can cause problems, specially if you don't wash the earphones...

I had the same kind of lumps at various times years ago from pierced earrings

Swollen lymph nodes are usually related to an infection close to the node. If you had an infection in wisdom tooth this could be the reason. But if you are also a smoker then there is concern for lymphoma which usually shows up first as swollen lymph nodes.

Yes Choux I have a piercing but only in my right ear ?
This morning the one I squeezed has more or less gone back to normal.the one on my other ear is still very swollen and painfull when I touch it.
Better get to the docs then ! What is lymphoma ? Sounds serious

Lymphoma is listed all over the Internet. All a person has to do is search for it. But, before getting worked up about what you might have, it would be best to see a physician who can examine you and visit with you in person about what is going on with you so that you will know what you do have rather than what you might have.
