    I751 Approved - Divorce Pending
I got my I751 Approved this month. Married to USC in good faith, have baby together. Filed I751 jointly because were then together. Later she filed divorce and its pending but I got my I751 approved before final divorce.
    Timeline is as follows:
    Married 08/14/2004
    Got Conditional GC - 03/25/05
    Filed I751 Jointly - January 2007
She filed divorce - August 2007
Got Approved GC - April 2008
Divorce Final hearing - June 2008.

What I need to do? Is there any problem now, do I have to still inform INS about the divorce now or wait till I file N400 next year?

    Any suggestions? Please advice.

    Thanks

No, you don't have to do anything. Since you become permanent resident, divorce will not effect your legal status.
However, you will be eligible to file for naturalization after having your first green card for five years instead of three years.

Thank you lawanwadee. I was told by one immigration lawyer that my green card is approved on the basis of joint petition. If divorce process started before approval, it can impact my citizenship or green card at the time of filing n400. I am just bit concerned and wanted to know if I can anything now to fix than waiting for another two years.

    Thanks again for your reply.

If your divorce is finalized before approval of your green card, you're out of status... but in this case, you are safe. Good luck.
