    Hello Anna,
If you apply hydrogen peroxide to the area 3 times a day it should clear up. Remove the piercing immediately. The belly button is the dirtiest place on the human body. I'm sure you do not have ring worm, but if the infection does not clear up with in 5 days then see a doctor. Good Luck!

I took of my percing about a year ago but it was hard in the middle and I was told it was a ring worm and if I don't squeeze it out it will be a big ring worm around my peircing!!

You more than likely do not have ring worm in your belly button.

First of all, never, ever, EVER apply hydrogen perodide to your piercing. It is way too harsh of a product and will make the problem worse.

Is there anything wrong with your ex-piercing that you can see? Can you SEE anything that makes you think you have ringworm, or are you just scared because a friend told you that?

If you do have ringworm, it has nothing to do with the piercing you took out a year ago. Since it has been so long since you took it out, it should not be giving you any problems whatsoever.

If all you see is the scar from the piercing, and there is nothing else there, then you are fine. If you had ringworm, you would have a small red circle in the area of your belly button that was dry, red, itchy and painful. Ringworm also spreads, so you would have those same circles on other parts of your body as well.

You sound like you are fine to me. Don't be scared. :)

The piercing is healed. The infection should be healed if you took antibiotics or got an antibiotic cream. :)

And you're welcome. I didn't want you to be freaked out. :)

If it was still infected it would be really swollen and red. It is a possibility that it was never infected in the first place, if it was not diagnosed by a doctor.
