    Murray rider battery search.
I have a Murray rider m/n 0-40601X34A; date of manufacture 1230. I purchased the mower used. I am trying to find a battery for it. I can't seem to reference the model number anywhere. The battery that is in it now does not have an OEM number on it anywhere. Can I just use a 12 volt battery that fits the battery tray and has enough cold cranking amps, or do I need to find a specific battery? My local lawnmower parts guy is closed on Sundays and I was hoping to take care of this today. Thanks!

I see no reason why almost any garden center wouldn't carry a battery for it match up the amperage of the battery that's in it and make sure its 12v battery and 12v system then just measure the size of the old battery and try to match it up like that it is what Ive always done with my mowers and it has worked for me. Im certainly no expert on riding mowers but that's my opinion. GOOD LUCK , AC

Be sure that you see which side the + and - is located on the present battery, I would turn the battery to where there was a post to the right and left, then note which side the + is on. Then I would recommend getting a battery with at least 300cca. But yes any lawn and garden center should have a battery.
