How do I access the DI-524 page: 192.168.0.1 ?

I have been trying to access the DI-524 "page" (I don't know the correct term for it) to edit the settings. I have been unable to access it because I didn't have the correct User Name and Password.
I tried Admin and Password.
It wouldn't let me in.

I then did a "hard reset" using a pin on the unplugged router, holding the pin in the Reset hole for 10 seconds on re-power.

But now I can't access the 192... page at all.
It won't upload or display the drop-down menu for User Name and Password -- which I was previously getting.

Any suggestions?

Were you previously able to access the page that you are trying to access?

Hmm, that could have potentially been bad. Try this:
1. Turn router on.
2. With router on, push reset pin for 10 seconds (note it takes very little pressure) and release.
3. Wait for all lights to stop blinking.
4. Confirm your computer has a static ip address assigned in the 192.168.0.x range by using command "ipconfig /all" or "winipcfg" depending on Windows version at a command prompt.
5. Try to access router's web interface at 192.168.0.1.

If nothing comes up, you may have corrupted the router's software by holding the reset pin on powerup.

Last ditch effort:
1. Find a sticker on bottom of router with a MAC ID and string of numbers and letters.
2. Start a command prompt.
3. Issue "arp -s 192.168.0.2 [MAC ID]" where [MAC ID] is from sticker in step 1 and formated as xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx.
4. Issue "ping 192.168.0.2"
5. You should:
A) Get a ping reply. If so connect to the router at 192.168.0.2 and reconfigure it to your liking.

or

B) If you get a request timed out, the router isn't responding. Call D-Link tech support.

6. Finally, issue "arp -d 192.168.0.2" to clear static arp entry so it won't conflict with anything in the future.

No -- I was not able to access the page.
I kept getting the Firefox drop-down window asking for the User Name and Password.
I entered Admin and left PW blank -- didn't work.
I also entered Admin and Password -- also, no luck.

Scleros -- Thanks for the info.

A few questions:
1. I did the reset again as you suggested with the router on. But all the indicator lights on the router did not stop blinking.
2. How exactly do I go about confirming my computer has a static ip address?
What is a "command prompt"?
Do I press the Command key and type in one or the other of the options you mentioned? Or something else?
I have a Mac computer -- if that makes any difference.

What kept blinking? Also, there is a sticker on router with a revision number (see H/W Ver.). What revision do you have?

For OS X
1. Select Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network Panel.
2. Set "Show" to "Builtin Ethernet".
3. Click on TCP/IP tab.

For OS 9
1. Select Apple Menu > Control Panels > TCP/IP.

4. See if "Configure" is set to DHCP and what the "IP address" is.

Network setup can be frustrating! Here's a quick way to check what IP address your router has given you, and what the router's IP address should be. Just go to Find My Router! and it will tell you instantly. This works on Mac OS 9 and OS X, as well as Windows, since it uses Java.

How I can put password for DI-524 page: 192.168.0.1 ?

Its name is default. But no wep
