    Fun at the DNC convention
Come join the fun folks of "Re-create 68" in Denver during the Democratic convention as they attempt to re-create the glory days of the 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago. Activities include The Festival of Democracy, the Food Not Bombs sponsored Community Feeds and the End the Occupations March & Rally.

    Quote:

No more free pass for the Democrats. Join R-68, Troops Out Now Coaltion! United for Peace and Justice, Code Pink, Iraq Veterans Against the War, F.I.S.T. (Fighting Imperialism Standing Together), and others organizations and individuals as we march to end all illegal imperialist occupations in Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Hawaii, North America, and others.
I'm looking forward to the Shake Your Money Maker! event:

    Quote:

It's time to redistribute the wealth. Between security and corporate pay-offs, the DNC will cost over 100 million dollars for a party. We think the people deserve that money. Join us as we encircle the Denver MInt (where U.S. currency is produced) and use our collective power to raise the mint building in the air and shake the money out of it for the people. Don't forget a sack to put all of your loot in.

-Bring noise makers, energy, spells, magic, costumes anything that gives you power, we will need it!
"Re-create 68" promises "that our group will not instigate violence against human beings as a means to end this system of violence and injustice" - unless of course they don't get their permit for the festivities.

    Quote:

“When things blow up because the police have to enforce a permit that the Democrats got, don’t blame us for that.” -Glenn Spagnuolo, an organizer for the Re-create 68 Alliance
    I can't wait...

An unchoreographed convention that means something; too bad it's not the GOP.

Lol end the occupation of North America ? Oh what some will do for face time !The Dems could nip this in the bud by nominating Cindy Sheehad.
When it all goes bad I wonder I they will blame it on Rush Limbaugh ?

But the bigger concern is that the Republicans decided to hold their convention in one of the most liberal cities in the country. As I understand it they intend to give permit to almost any demonstation .

However ;besides the ususal anti-war protest the biggest chance of a Republican convention disruption probably comes from Ronulans infiltrating the convention floor .As I understand it they have been very active in an attempt to do a take over of the Republican party at the grass roots level .
He collected a lot of $$ in the campaign... much more than he needs to get reelected to Congress... and he has not officially ended his run at the Presidency.
The plot to get Paul nominated in a brokered convention is outlined here: HOW TO GET RON PAUL NOMINATED - ANYWAY

The plan would be to take over the Precinct meetings to elect the Delegates for the Senatorial Conventions and in turn affect the Delegate selection all the way up to the National Convention.

Ron Paul campaign dominates convention - Las Vegas Sun

It is a hail mary pass for sure ;but they are counting on the fact that there is a lot of dissatisfaction in the McCain selection.
If McCain keeps smacking down State Republican parties like he did this week in N.C. then there may be a movement to find an alternative at the convention. It would be a real puchitz for a person who got around 4% of the primary vote to seize control of the party.

By the way I know I am off topic a little but Paul has a plan to turn those excess $$s into a FOR PROFIT publishing company . There is no law against it so long as he doesn't personally profit from it.He can funnel the excess $ into his own 501(c)3 organization ;'FREE Foundation'. Besides ;FEC regs will be difficult to enforce because Congress has stalled the seating of the FEC regulators.
Part of the scheme would be the selling of the massive mailing list he has collected .

Senator Ken Salazar sent a letter to Clear Channel Radio that Rush be reprimanded for his "incendiary" comments. No word on whether he considers Spagnuolo's "things blow up" remark as incendiary, if he sent a letter to Sharpton about his promises of chaos, or to Obama supporter Doug Wilder for suggesting "chaos at the convention" should the superdelegates "intervene" against Obama - "If you think 1968 was bad — you watch — 2008 will be worse."

Since Jeremiah Wright has so much time on his hands now I just wonder if he'll bring his bloviating energy to help "shake your money maker."

That depends if he is thinking with the left or right side of his brain. Lots of stuff going in with Obama. The Rezko trial is heating up ,and it is becoming ever clearer that he had more than a causal acquaintance with Ayers. Ayers was his boss for 8 years at the Annenberg Challenge as a matter of fact.
I think Obama is willing to give Rev Wright a huge stipend to just go away for the rest of the year.

Sharpton is a little busy right now playing host to Rep John Conyers trying to make a local incident/tragedy a national race issue. (2 of the 3 cops acquitted in the Sean Bell shooting were black)

I noticed that from the pic in my paper, but Al says their attorneys were playing the race card.

    Quote:

"Sharpton accused the defense of playing the race card by hiring African-American lawyers Martin and Anthony Ricco to represent two of the accused detectives.

"They purposely got two black attorneys so that they could say things that others couldn't say to try and castigate, even in death, Sean Bell's memory ... "
This is all so confusing, I thought blacks were supposed to be able to say things that others can't. Would he have rather they had a rich, white lawyer? And if so and they had been convicted would he be protesting on both sides?
