This depends on the state. However, if he is doing something illegal there is always the police.
Some states, if you have taken money from them, you have to give them anywhere from 30 to 60 days notice and then go through the proper eviction proceedings.

If he is not on the lease, then he is YOUR tenant. You need to follow formal eviction proceedings against him. However, if he is breaking the law, you can get the police involved that way.
