Most private schools that I know of around where I live, do have tuition assistance of some kind depending on the financial needs of the family. Usually, it is on a case by case basis. I don't know that there are any scholarships available at the elementary level simply because a child is gifted unless it would be for a school that might have an emphasis on the arts and/or sciences.

1) Church. Many churches have a mechanism for it's members to apply for funds for a number of charitable causes, including education if members at private schools. Some churches even have their own in-house "Funds" ex. Swenson Fund (1st Presbyterian) to support individuals and causes.
2) Community Foundation. Check with your local foundation (just about every City has one). Typically Community Foundations are a great source of specialized educational scholarship funds.
