    Troy built issues
I have a troy built riding lawn mower and I got it out for the first time this season. Ran fine, no problems. Someone decided it needed an oil change so that was done. After that and after it ran for a bit, it stopped moving forward and backward. More oil was added, then smoked to death (naturally to much).

My question is, was lack of oil the first issue and then too much was added and can I just drain the oil, start over, let the oil burn off and I'll be fine?

    Thanks

A lack of oil in the crankcase has nothing to do with the transaxle. The only way that could have mattered is if the engine itself had quit running and you give no indication of that. The transaxle is ran off the engine's pto shaft,(crankshaft) by a belt, so the oil in the engine had nothing to do with the transaxle's malfunction.
