    Rent increase with lease renewal
Is there a limit to the percentage of increase in rent with a lease renewal in Florida?

There are links to state laws at the top of this forum, where you can check this. But generally, unless the unit is under some form of rent control, there may not be a statutory limit.

What does the lease say about a renewal? If it's silent I believe the landlord can do whatever he/she wants to do.

This question has been posted before and I believe California is the only exception to the sort of "free enterprise" rule.

I rented once in Florida and my rent went up $50 a month at renewal time. Ouch!

Unless there is some local rent control inplace, they can increase the rent to what ever level the free enterprise system will hold.
