    Negative Pregnancy Tests
Is it possible that late ovulation (and therefore late conception) can cause a higher rate of false negative pregnancy tests? I am usually very regular with my periods but I am 3 days late. I have periodically been nausious and I know that I had intercourse while I was ovulating because I used an ovulation predicting test (I ovulate on day 21 / 22). Is it still likely that I am pregnant?

    Thanks!

It may just be too early for the test to pick it up... or your period might be late this cycle. Regardless of where in the cycle you ovulate, some women will get a positive result 8-10 days after ovulation as implantation is often complete by that time... rough guide is 6-12 days. For others they have to be actually late for their period, and for others still it may be weeks before it shows up on a urine test.
Maybe give it a few more days and see what happens... if still no period, try another test. If you feel it is likely that you are pregnant, and your urine test is still negative, ask about a quantitative blood test from your doctor.
