    Tubal pregnancies
Five years ago I had my tubes tied. My husband now wants another child, is there anything other that having surgery that I can do to make this happen? I was told that after about 3 years after your tubal its easy to get pregnant and its been five for me.

Once you have had your tubes tied, it is basically impossible to get pregnant. This is a permanent means of birth control.

You can, however, have them untied, but this does not give a guarantee that you will get pregnant and may present you with other problems such as tubal pregnancies that will require surgery.

As J_9 said, it is considered permanent. You may have heard about some women getting pregnant after having a tubal, but it is not the norm. Much depends on how it was done if an unplanned pregnancy might occur as rarely it can happen where the fallopian tube reconnects. I wouldn't count on that happening though, so if you decide you want to become pregnant you have two options... surgery or IVF. How the tubal was done will play a role in how successful any surgery would be. There are pros and cons to both procedures.
